Has anybody studied the effects of cigarette smoking on the atmosphere?

I'm wondering if anybody knows of data to show the contribution of cigarette smoking to CO2 emissions. There is the burning of tobacco that contributes directly, plus all indirect consequences from CO2 emissions from growing, processing, and transporting tobacco. products.

Although, pollution caused from cigarette smoking is nil. There is a radioactive interaction when it is inhaled into the lungs producing a radioactive gas. The name of it slips my mind, It sounds like plutonium but it is not plutonium. That is actually what causes the cancer. It causes more cases of lung cancer than radon. If smoking in a building, that gas and nicotine can last for hours contained in a poor ventilated area. I had to do some research with this because of learning radiation safety and reading chest x-rays.

As far as the CO2 goes, we exhale that anyway. But there are other gases that the cigarrette produces that is harmeful. This pollution is not as bad as a trip to the store in a gas guzzeling car.

Being late doesn't mean you are pregnant. Go see your Doc. Absolute assured sign your pregnant would be an ultrasound of the baby or hearing the babies heart beat BUT missing your period is NOT a certain sign. Smoking doesnt affect the test but can affect an embryos development

The data is available to do the math. When you do it, keep in mind that while the plants are growing, they produce oxygen and fix CO2. So there is a significant offset.

Exhaling is a far greater concern for the environment than smoking. Studies indicate that everyone exhales co2 while not everyone smokes.

Government is now pushing for regulations that will force people to exhale twice for every three breaths they take. This should reduce human caused co2 emissions by 33%.

    Testing procedure:

    1) Turn on brain.

    2) Think about the size of wordwide tobacco production.

    3) Think about size of good forest fire.

    4) Consider that there are a lot of forest fires happening all the time.

    5) Realize that your worries are silly

    6) Relax and have a smoke and a beer.*

    * Only if you've reached legal age for having a smoke and a beer.

I study the atmosphere every time I step out for a smoke....no change. No problem. If you're concerned, I can always exhale into a ziplock and mail it to you for storage. Just send me a couple of cases of ziplocks and postage money. Attached to each bag will be a simple list of handling directions:

    SEQUESTER THIS!!

...sequestered liquor-peppers-and-eggs-scented methane available upon request, too.
