Woww!!! I think that this season is going to be amaaazing... so much happened in the premiere. The only thing that I'm confused about is I have no idea whatsoever who that old woman was at the end of the show. The one who ben is talking to that says he only has 70 hours? ITS so suspenseful.. also i really want to know what happened to Locke and if he's dead or not. I can't wait for the next episode!

Yes, TNG best as it showed what the original could have been had they been given a better budget and less interference by network censors, it may have been a little on the rosy side, but then that is how social commentary slips into STAR TREK, by making it someone else's problem not ours and working it out in an objective manner. When it's more direct conflict among the crew STAR TREK's basic message of hope for a peaceful future for humanity gets muddled in the bickering and nit picking over differences. Once Voyager is lost in space, do the politics of the combined Starfleet & Marquis cews really matter, or does the shared goal of getting home matter more. When people are working toward a common goal, that goal is more important than individual "...the needs of the many... the needs of the one." That's not only a Vulcan bit of logic, but also a seed of wisdom about how to get along with one another.

My main thought is about the island itself...ok, so we learned that the people are traveling through time, and landing back on the island, but at different points in time (that's why the camp was gone, then the hatch was back etc). However, in all of this, the island itself wouldn't have moved...(unless it's the island on LOST apparently), so then why did is disappear, and the folks in the helicopter couldn't see it anymore? That's what has me confused right now...

Loved it. Was a little anxious when I saw the clock getting to 9:58 and I hadn't felt satisified yet and cheered when I saw Hurley Driving and I glanced at the clock and it was 10:01 and I realized it was a 2 hr opener!!

Oh yes! It definitely was amazing! Those writers are genius. It used to make me nuts when I thought we weren't going to get answers to the mysteries, but now I'm finding that it seems that's part of the allure of this show...they do give the answers (but usually just subtle clues that we have to figure out ourselves) but then there are continually new questions arising.

It will be interesting to see if all the Oceanic Six can return to the island. I think that's the only way to stop the paradox of shifting time/space on the island.

I loved it, but I was a little confused at first, why all the flashes of light and the island moving front past to future?

It was awesome as usual. I just hope that they answer all of our questions before it's over like what the hell is the smoke monster and what is the significance of Hurley's lottery numbers, etc, etc.. It is a long list indeed.. :)
