If I eat nothing and drink nothing but water for two weeks, should this be enough to clear up oral thrush?

Go to a clinic or something like those ones at a drugstore with a nurse practitioner. I think it costs $40 or so. He/she can prescribe you an oral rinse. I think its called Nystatin. Its the same medicine used for yeast infections which is what thrush is.

I had thrush after using Advair, and my doctor gave me the rinse. It worked in a few days, but you need to use it as long as they say.

I'm no expert, but I cant see how not eating or drinking could cure it. Mine only got worse until I treated it properly

I have never heard of any advice given that says you must not eat anything. There are some real remedies and help you can get for oral thrush and i strongly advise you don't start starving yourself, especially of water.

Just watch what you're eating. Thrush is pretty much eh.. a yeast infection in your mouth. Keep it sanitary, and make sure you brush your teeth often. There should be an remedy to this.. my godson had to take a dropper full of medicine a day and it went away in no time. ask a pharmacist.

I have always been told that natural ( not flavoured ) yogurt is a way of clearing up thrush

Gentian violet (1%) is non prescription but it will turn your mouth purple temporarily. LOL

I have a friend who was from the Ukraine. I will not tell you what they use on their baby's mouth for thrush. You would have to write to me if your curious.

i would never advise no eating for 2 weeks and only drinkig water. You will have zero energy source which is very bad for your immune system.

Try natural live yoghurt and avoid fruit and sweets.

Nystatin is what you really need though

you should go and see a Doctor! Not eating for two weeks can really **** you up and weakens your immune system.
