Is my boyfriend a jerk or does he have a hard time expressing his feelings?

I would ask him to not talk about things like that infront of his friends. Thats the least you can do, he shouldn't be able to feel good about himself by trashing you.

he wants 2 seem macho in front of his friends. he doenst want them 2 look down on him cuz he got all sensitive and stuff. dont worry all guys r pretty much like dat.

i would get up and leave next time he humiliates you. these things shouldnt be hard for him to read, unless hes fully aware that hes hurting your feelings and doesnt care.

i think your boyfriend is just trying to act bad around his or your friends you should show him who is boss because i think that is what he is doing
