Is there a device to detect salt (sodiium chloride)? It's for a science project.?
If its cheap or can be homemade it would be greatly appreciated.
THis is like beef and pork and such.

If you want the cheapest way to determine sodium chloride is by the use of flame test. Just dip the wire (usually platinum due to its inertness but stainless steel can be use) into the salt solution then heat at the bunsen burner. Sodium gives a yellow flame.

you can boil the solution and if salt crystals appear you know you have salt
you can also taste it if it's just salt water
