49ers Off-Season Question?

I just read that they have 11 mill in cap space for the 2009 season.....can some one veryify that please?

and, with their money, what should they do?

i personally think they should pursue a big name D-Lineman like haynesworth, or peppers, or a saftey

your thought?

Update:

Maynard: They are currently interviewing Dan Reeves as an OC, that would certainly bolster their staff? would it not?

we need to improve our pathetic pass rush and i would like to pick up peppers..we need 1 more WR jason hill and josh morgan are gonna be here for a long time and i think they will be great for us and isaac bruce we'll most likely be around for a year or so and idk how michael spurlock will do and i don't think we will bring back bryant johnson as much as i would like to bring him back we probably won't..foster has to improve as our number 2 RB..and goldson has to replace the horrible mark roman...Shaun Hill is a decent QB for right now and we must hope by some miracle Alex Smith turns into a good QB which Singletary has made clear that he's gonna give him another shot at winning the starting QB job..Go Niners!

I don't think Haynesworth would be a good 3-4 D-tackle, but I'm not sure what style defense they will run. I doubt Peppers will sign with the 49ers. I would go out and pick up some o-lineman, a qb, a wide reciever or two, an outside linebacker, and a corner. I think the 49ers should go the Dolphins route and build through the draft and free agents who aren't big names... The only big name free agent I would go after, honestly, would be Terrell Suggs.. He's a good outside rusher, has decent speed, and an excellent athlete. They have some youth on the D-line too, so maybe that D-line will be pretty good next year. Nate Clements needs to step it up too. As does Frank Gore and Deshaun Foster.

A championship team needs a legit safety a NT in a 3-4 and a OLB. The Niners have neither and they need to improve their O line and WRs. Hill is alright for a QB right now. Haynesworth is a 4-3 DT not a 3-4 NT. They need to sign a big name like Julius Peppers or Terrell Suggs or Bart Scott.

11 mil? damn i hope that's not true. Im a 49ers fan and i know that wont be enough money to rebuild a team. With their 10th pick in the first round, i think they should pick an offensive lineman like monroe, oher, smith. They could have an explosive running game with frank gore. Go back to 2 seasons ago when Gore had 1,695 yards... That was when they had larry allen. Think of how many yards he could get if they had a solid offensive line...

the 49ers need no more d-linemen they have been working forever to bolster that d-line no they are good at safety they have 2 good safeties already really they have 3 if you think Mark Roman is any good many dont n r waiting for the time when dashon goldson will take over no dan reeves would not be a good hire he hasn't coached in a long while
