how do you feel about the political party system?
how do you feel about the political party system?
i'm against them, what are your opinions?
thanks
i'm not asking which party is better btw, i'm saying i think theres a better way then having only two different ideals to choose from, considering its probably not likely for an independent or any other outside candidate winning.
i just think it'd be better for candidates to run on their own beliefs and ideas and let the people choose instead of choosing between the two party candidates while the parties spend millions or billions campaigning.

I believe the two-party system has created a lot of ignorance in our country. People vote for a candidate based solely on their party, rather than their stand on the issues or past actions. If you want to run for office and do not join the republican or democratic party, you can run, but many states have laws in place that prevent you from being on the ticket for president unless you are the candidate for one of the big two. I think this close-minded view on politics prevents the best possible candidate for the people running for office, as anyone who does run has ties, read obligations to a party

The political party system was not in the Constitution. It developed due to differences between Hamilton and Jefferson. Americans are under the delusion there is a two-party system, there are free and open elections, the US is a democracy.
I favor a mulitparty system where all political parties compete in elections, have equal access to the ballot, and debate is free and open to the public. You are correct though, it was the original intent of the Founders to have individuals run for political office based on their beliefs and ideas.
Forgive me, but there is not one mention in the Constitution about democracy. The cradle of democracy was Athens, but it was their democracy, NOT ours. We do not have a democracy. In theory we are a constitutional republic, but in reality we're an oligarchy masquerading as a "democracy."

There are lots of crooks up there. They spend the money the way that they choose, even though they put things to a vote. Why do the banks go down, cause somebody overhead is putting their hands on that money. You see the gov, at times, votes for the people and the government sometimes votes for what is correct for themselves, they have to eat too, want to have luxuirous things for themselves and their female friends.
For example they put a train down main street up for a vote. The people voted it down, I believe and next thing we know they are talking about the train, that was supposed to be paid for. It cost the tax payers, us, more than millions more. Get the picture. If they aren't God fearing and sometimes, money gets before their eyes instead of Him, so.

It costs a lot of money but there are too parties cause all the others aren't popular enough.
And if the people just stood on their own a lot could go wrong.
Your way makes sense but it would actually take a lot more time, effort and money to do.

The current party system works well with it's checks and balance with few major flaws
The biggest flaw is that it is only a two party system and their refusal to listen to the people
Outdated laws and ideals
and finally the medical system and their lobbyists

I have to agree with Washington on this one. Political parties only divide one nation. I feel that parties are bad for government. It just labels people. I guess my views are more democrat but that wouldn't stop me from voting for a Republican. When I vote I focus more on their values more then what party they are in.
