Vegas Vacation with friends on a modest budget. What are some affordable dining and entertainment options?

We are all between 21 and 24 and will be staying at the Flamingo for a week in June. How can we get the most bang for our buck on dining and entertainment?

There are many great happy hours on the strip. Just do some google searching and research. Thats what I did. One off hand that I know of is the Pink Taco @ the hard rock. Go between 4-7 and you can eat and drink for pretty much half price. RA Sushi has a good one too and there are a bunch others.

I would avoid drinking at the big casinos. Beers are gonna be $7 unless you are gambling and get them free. Try the smaller places on the strip. Slots of Fun, O'Sheas and Bills have very cheap drinks. Beers are like $2. Bills has 99 cent margaritas that are strong and GOOD. I went there everynight I was in Vegas.

Also you can drink on the street in Vegas so you can go into a 7/11 and pick up a drink and chug it while you are walking from casino to casino. This will save you $$ as well.

I recommend going down to Freemont Street at night. Its a huge big party in the street and everything is CHEAP down there! 99 cent shrimp cocktail and the golden gate is to die for!!! Take the Deuce Bus to get there. They pick you up at pretty much any hotel on the strip and run 24/7. Its really fun too and they have an amazing light show. Everyone visiting Vegas needs to visit Freemont Street! This is a MUST!!

    HAVE FUN!!

For entertainment wait until you get there and see what specials they are offering. Most shows have some kind of discounts all over the place. Look for the two for one coupons floating around Vegas and don't forget to check your magazines in your hotel room. They are filled with info and coupons. You can also use the half price tix shops along the strip. They will have reduced tickets for various show for that night only. You will have limited selection as the reduce them at different times.

Carnivale Court, not far from the Flamingo, has good fast food at cheap prices. Also, downtown has some of the best deals on buffets (especially Paradise Buffet at the Fremont, which is cheaper than the one at Flamingo, with the same items).

Buffets can be expensive. Check out Vegas.com. They have a list of cheap eats and entertainment options. Also in vegas they have a few shops where you can buy half price tickets the day of the show. Its a good deal but you have to get there early.

Most visitors to Vegas eat at buffets. Most hotels have them. The food is good and very affordable.

As far as entertainment are concerned, if you need to see a show, get your tickets from the discount booths along the Vegas strip.
