I know I'm going to get some flack for this, but what are some effeminate haircuts I could actually pull off? I want to have a more androgynous face, and have been growing out my hair in hopes of having more options, but have no blasted idea how to style it. My hair is kind of bristly, and refuses to stay in place when combed. It's also starting to thin a bit in the front (argh). Seriously, I'm hair-challenged, and I need some considerate advice on how to look less facially masculine. Deviant dye shades and or streaking will definitely be considered (would black w/ red streaks work?).

Your hair looks very dried out- use moisturizing conditioner and even a hair mask. That should take care of the "bristly" bit. From the photo i assume that you have curly hair...you are not supposed to comb or brush curly hair unless it's right after a shower. Brushing it only makes it frizzier! And as for a haircut, i think a side part would just about do the trick...but cutting it shorter would be best. And remember- work WITH your hair not against it!

A quick idea, just use a little gel and scrunch it while you dry it. It will give you a kinda controlled yet wild look. Don't do too extreme color change. Maybe just lighten the tips of you hair. It's called "dipped in sauce" That would look cute!
