Plain tofu with soysauce?
okay so if i buy plain firm frozen tofu,
and let it de frost, will it taste good with just some pepper and soy sauce?
Is there any other simple recipes you can give me that dont involve me having to fry/grill/ect. it?

Just the soy may be a bit salty. So in a bowl mix it with a little sugar or honey and a squeeze of lime, could also add some chili and chopped fresh herbs like coriander and chives.

Freezing tofu changes it's texture quite a bit - you might find it really strange and spongy! I would not recommend eating previously frozen tofu uncooked - it is best used crumbled into sauce or something, a bit like mince.
If it has not been frozen (I've never seen it frozen in shops), it might be good with a bit of spiced-up soy sauce, but that probably depends on the tofu itself, and on your tastes. I was served plain, uncooked tofu in Japan and it was delicious, but it was exceptionally smooth, silky tofu - quite unlike the tofu normally available in the US or the UK.
How about pressing it (put slabs of tofu between clean towels and put a big pan full of water on it for an hour - this removes a lot of the moisture in tofu and gives it a chewy and yummy texture), cubing it, tossing it with soy sauce, sesame oil and chili, and trying it in a salad of shredded lettuce, spring onions, red peppers and peanuts? Mmmm...

Tofu is very bland. yet no person of their precise suggestions could consume it undeniable, and style has in no way been a reason to consume it. that is an surprising source of calcium, iron and protein, among different issues. you will desire to cook dinner it with sauces or spices or herbs, the flavours of which will then be absorbed into the tofu. A stir-fry may be the acceptable thank you to coach it. different procedures are in a smoothie (utilising the silken style of tofu), in a soup, in a casserole/stew, scrambled, deep-fried. that is relatively versatile. do only not consume it undeniable, or you would be grew to become off it.

you should marinate it for at least an hour. plus that is a taste thing. you can put practically anything on tofu, but whether it is good or not is up to you

i like the vegetable infused fried tofu-you can get at most japaneese grocery stores - i cut it up into thin slices and we dip them lightly in a wasabi/ginger/soysauce mixture
