Can anyone recommend good sites to get reasonable saddles and tack?

I am looking to get together some beginning tack (would like something that would last 5+ years, but doesn't have to be lifetime). I am interested in either a western pleasure/trail or australian stock saddle.

Price range, I'd like to get a saddle around $250, or full set around $350 to $400. Less expensive would be great, but I don't want to skimp too much on quality.

Does anyone have recommendations? Thanks.

hi! i'm not sure what all you go with, yet I in basic terms offered a superb saddle set finished with reins, bridle, bit, stirrup, pad, girth, the works- off of ebay for under $200.00. This replaced into kind new merchandise-nonetheless in applications. apparently, there are some distributors on there that purchase out tack shops that are last and purchase discontinued merchandise and then public sale it off. It replaced into a great deal, precise of the line saddle set! that's recommended to ascertain it out, good good fortune!

You would be better off buying your saddle from a local saddler, who can come out and measure you and your horse. I bought a saddle online before (www.robinsons-uk.com). It was really cheap and good quality but it just didn't fit my horse, and I couldn't return it. I lost money when I sold it on. All saddles are different sizes so you really need an expert to get an individual fit. Good luck!

For those prices, I would check Ebay or local sales barns when they have tack sales. You will hard pressed getting the good stuff for that price at a store.

Try ebay. There's plenty of saddles in your price range that will work for you.

Source(s): Over 40 years of training horses, riders and making/repairing saddles and tack. HPTS!!!
