I need to drop an egg from 14 feet without breaking in a container no larger than a Progresso soup can.?

Any ideas?

I did that in college and we suspended the egg in the can with large rubber bands on all side. So the egg was kinda hanging in the middle of the can with rubber bands. It worked too. I would google it. Most science teachers make people do it at sometime in their school life. I mean I am 48 and I had to do it.

Coat the egg with several layers to increase the thickness and strength of the skin. It's flat out cheating but if you're allowed you're guaranteed a win.

Otherwise you can use flaps or loose paper that unfolds quickly to increase the surface area of your container which will drastically reduce the speed it drops at. Or you can put a really soft material around the outside to absorb the energy of the impact (something like really soft foam should work).

Drop it through water. You can do the experiment underwater, yes? If it doesn't state air you could get away with it...
