Are the new macbook pro's high definition?

I just got a new macbook pro and i want to know if it will play HD content.

    If your using the screen that came with the laptop and not an external monitor then no. It'll play 720P content but not 1080P content which is true HD because your resolution is 1440x900.

    Computers have been "HD" since the 1990s. Of course, to actually play a Blu-ray or HD-DVD, you'd need an external drive of the same type.
