a crazy chihuahua question if you please...?

hi!

i have a crazy chihuahua question that i hope someone can help me with. now before i start, please understand the dogs are both well fed with iams small bites.

i have 2 chihuahua's, a brother and sister from the same litter and the same birth. age approximately 3 1/2 yrs old.

i live in an office inside a warehouse. when i let the dogs outside to run or do their business and open the warehouse shop door, they both go in and "eat" or at least take a few swipes with their mouthes at the floor dry i have on the floor. i have it on the floor of the shop for when the humidity comes out so it doesn't get all wet in there. there's no antifreeze or anything like that on the floor at all. nothing sweet.

now i know in the summer dogs and cats eat grass for digestion or whatever, but has anyone ever heard of or know why they would eat floor dry?

thank you.

Update:

i live in an office because of a situation where the land my home was on was taken by an ex gf so my home was forclosed on since i couldn't move it in the 5 days they gave me. the deposit on an apartment would have been rediculous with 2 dogs so i live in a warehouse...isn't that better than on the streets or in a cardboard box? i'm sorry you disapprove.

and yes, floor dry is like cat litter just less dusty.

They could find it entertaining. Maybe buy them a pull rope or toys that they could use to stimulate their minds differently?

For all of you not knowing what floor-dry is, it is a gritty almost cat-litter like material, used for cleaning up floor spills. Most likely automotive floor spills.

I've just adopted a 4 year old Chi-mix who has issues with my hands, he likes attacking them, he has bit me once, that's the first day, he's gotten better about actually sinking his teeth into my hand, now he just hits me with his mouth. So far I've found ignoring him, turning my back towards him, walking away and not saying a word to him for a couple of hours helps, he doesn't like being ignored. He goes a little nutso when others entre the house. I believe he's guarding me and the house from strangers, maybe it's the same with you're little girl. She could be reacting out of love for you but a visit to the vet could be in order just to make sure it's nothing medical or maybe just some training. I wish you luck with the little one.

I don't understand the question, what is floor dry? How can you live in an office?

  • I don't know what floor dry is. But I am guessing it is some kind of liquid you put on the floor maybe?
