    These are nouns: family, camp, clearing, woods, parents, tent, children, surroundings, path, lake, boats, beach, and vacation

    These are verbs: gathered, explore.

    To trk: some of your answers are wrong.

    EDIT: Joanna. I can see where clearing could be a verb, but in this context I believe it's a noun. A clearing is a patch in the woods where there are no trees. Also, surroundings is definately a noun. My surroundings, your surroundings, his/her surroundings. Surround is a verb, and surrounding is too. But with an "s" it means the physical objects around you.

    "He" is a pronoun, along with, "she, it, I, you, him, her, they, we, us, them, and you (plural)"

    Well you sorta answered your own question. A noun is a person, place, or thing. For example, cousin is a noun because he/she is a person, a country is a noun because it's a place, and a pencil is a noun because it's a thing.

    Family=yes

    Camp=yes

    Clearing=no(it's a verb)

    Woods=yes

    Parents=yes

    Tent=yes

    Children=yes

    Gathered=no(it's a verb)

    Explore=no(it's a verb)

    Surroundings=yes

    Path=yes

    Lake=yes

    Boats=yes

    Beach=yes

    Vacation=yes

    All of them were nouns except a few because those ones were verbs because you can clear, you can gather, and you can explore. He is a pronoun and out is a prepostion.

    camp - yes/no, depends on context

    clearing - no

    woods - yes

    parents - yes

    tent- yes

    children - yes

    gathered - no

    explore - no

    surroundings - I want to say yes, but no.

    path - yes

    lake- yes

    boats - yes
