Best way to travel around Luzon?

Best to travel by car.

Either you rent one, or have a friend bring his car.

Luzon is on big land mass, and there are interesting stops along the way to any destination you may pick. It will be comfortable to be able to stop to pee, to eat, to take photos, and go around to scout for alternative accommodations. In fact, you can bring a tent, as I always do, and camp on the beach when you feel it is safe to do so.

Get yourself a Luzon road map from National Book store. Or a book that shows the destinations. Lonely Planet is a good one.
