Bird training question...?
I have a pet budgie who is nearly 2 years old. He used to snuggle with me and let me pat him. Recently he has become obsessed with a water bottle. He actually thinks the water bottle is his girlfriend and tries to make baby budgies with it. How do I get him to love me again and snuggle with me..not with a plastic bottle??

Your bird has most likely become so desperate for companionship that it has adapted the water bottle into it's life as a mate. There's a chance that it saw it's own reflection in the water or something, which, because it was desperate for companionship, meant mate-instincts kicked in.
Unfortunately as soon as birds find a 'mate', they tend to become very terratorial, and not welcome any company apart from that of it's partner. If you take the water out straight away, it could get very depressed, so maybe take it out for an hour a day, for a week. Then 2 hours for another, then 3, and slowly wein it out of his life.

Take the plastic bottle away first off. And try to rake it slow, by letting him out. Then do more with him and he'll love you again.

Just take the bottle away and take him with you and go sit on your couch or something with it. My lovebird is like that. He loves his mirror and my computer mouse and when I take him away from it and sit with him, he goes under my chin and comes out and kisses me with is birdy kisses. I know I sound dumb. Hope this helped!!
