Can I replace my CMOS battery on my motherboard with any other CMOS battery in any motherboard?
I believe my battery is dying. I haven't gotten any messages in the POST screen about a dying/dead battery, but my clock is slowing down, it won't stay synced. I salvage all computers and have three beside me with CMOS batteries in them. One of the computers are fairly new. Does it matter what kind of battery I replace it with? Or are they all the same?

yea, pretty much...as long as it is the same size and it puts out 3.3 volts you will be golden...
a new one wouldn't hurt either, just ask for a 3.3 volt battery or take the old one with you to radio shack or wherever you shop that sells batteries...our local walmart has them in 3 packs

Your clock doesn't slow down because of low battery power. The clock gets it's frequency from a crystal. The frequency of the crystal doesn't change with the amount of power.

Yeah, they should all be the same.
