The women get equal prize money in the majors, but the men play 3 out of 5 sets vs. 2 out of 3 for the girls,?
doesn't sound equal to me, what do you think?

I know, it's not really fair, is it? Also, women never get to play really late at night, it's always the guys who have to play grueling 5-set matches until like 2 in the morning...Fed was talking about it in the interview in which he was asked about Chokerbitch retiring and I had never thought about it that way...

As with most things, the overriding factor is not how much they play, it's revenue. The women's events generate as much money (and sometimes more) than the men's events do. The women's final often gets higher TV ratings than the men's, and the women's quarterfinals and semifinals often generate higher attendance and ticket sales than the men's. So their argument is why shouldn't they get an equal share of the money, since they're generating it as well or better than the men?
It's true they play fewer sets - but so what? The tickets cost the same to watch a women's best-of-3 than a men's best-of-5. Remember, this is not a regular hourly-wage job we're talking about, it's an entertainment industry. They want butts in seats and eyes on TVs, just like boxing or movies. Boxers don't get paid based on how many rounds they fight - they get paid by getting people to buy a ticket or a pay-per-view. I pay the same $9 at the theater to watch a 90 minute movie as I do to watch a 3-hour movie. Do you ask to pay less if the movie is short? If the product is just as good, the length matters very little.

yea it doesnt sound equal to me either.
But the thing is, in womens body's if playing a 3 set for them is as hard as playing a 5 set for men, then its decently fair. But when you get down to the mental aspects in a 5 setter compared to a 3 setter, it doesnt compare. I think men should get just a bit more money than women in this.
In a response to North Tennis guys arguement, The thing is, women dont generate near the amount of money men do. If that were the case i would agree with you. Look it up on the internet, you'll see that mens tennis brings in much more revenue than womens. And it makes sense, would a 3 hour match have more commercials than a 1 hour match? Of course.
