is this an at least semi-healthy day of eating?

i'm 15, and lately i've not been eating very healthy at all. skipping breakfast, lots of soda, etc. i'm not overweight in the least bit, but i do feel sort of tired often. i was wondering if this might be somewhat healthy:

in the morning:

cup of o.j.

coffee

a bacon and egg biscuit (no cheese)

a 10 oz. soda (i'm not going to quit. bad, i know.)

lunch:

99 cent bag of sunchips (which have some fiber)

supper:

6 in. sub from subway with lettuce, tomato, and onions. no cheese or sauce.

snack, later:

an apple

some gummi worms (fat free, so while it's not nutritious, it isn't fattening really at least)

12 oz. soda

is this pretty good? it's definitely better, for me.

Definitely short on fruit/ vegetables and too much sugar [ I have seen worse though ! ]. Oh, and a bit short on dairy and nuts, maybe add a low fat yogurt with lunch and don't avoid all cheese, some fat is o.k. + there is calcium to consider.

This seems kind of unhealthy. It's not horrible, but you definitely should work on it a little bit. For the soda, at least try to get pepsi 1 or something low or no calories. Soda has A LOT of calories and sugar. I know it's hard because you're addicted to the caffeine, so I'd at least TRY to drink diet. You'll get used to the taste after a while.

Bacon and egg biscuit is not a great choice. The eggs are good but the bacon and biscuit are really bad for you. Try scrambled eggs for breakfast and whole wheat toast.

Sunchips are an okay snack, but not too much nutritional value. Try for fruits, veggies, or nuts.

What kind of sub? Subway really isn't as healthy as you think. Mostly because of the bread they use. A 6 inch veggie sub with no condoments is 230 cals and not bad for every once in a while, but making your own dinner is much better. Tuna fish with fat free mayo on whole wheat bread is a good sandwich-y dinner. Add a salad if you aren't full after that.

Apple, good. Gummi worms are just empty calories and there's really no point in eating them. You should have had more fruit or maybe nuts.

Im sorry I dont know how you were eating before, but that is absolutely horrible. Soda is poisen, and while gummi bears are "fat free" they are loaded with calories and sugar. Breakfast sandwiches are horrible. Sunchips are full of sodium and fat, along with the fiber. No meal was good at all.

You had 1/2 servings of veggies (that was from the minimum stuff they put on the sandwich) and just 1 fruit serving . No milk, calcium. No B vitamins, minimal vit C, no folic acid. Youre heading to an early heart attack.

Not really, you need more nutrients in your diet if you want to regain your energy.

In the morning cut out the soda (once you go without it for a couple weeks it will be no problem, just drink lots of water).

I don't eat meat at all, but I know turkey bacon is probably healthier than normal, or maybe a piece of roast turkey/chicken or something rather than bacon

whole wheat english muffin instead of a biscuit would be a good option too

    Lunch

You need more than chips, maybe have a salad, piece of fruit and chips or something. Or maybe a cup/bowl of soup instead of salad.

    Dinner

Good choice, I think this is perfect size for dinner (I like my big meal at lunch). Try and get the whole wheat sub, whole grains are really important to good health and energy!

Lastly, soda is SO bad for you! Try to cut it out completely or only have it on special occasions, either when you're going out to eat or to the movies or something.

if it's better for you that's great keep your positive mind...but yo you gotta cut out the soda i mean if you do the math (which i don't really have because i don't drink soda)...but theres like 3600 calories in a pound of fat and idk how many calories in your soda but if you can cut it out, all your insides will be happy and you wont b having all those empty cals

breakfast is the most important meal of the day it'll jump start your metabolism so try to eat it

keep some almonds around to like munch on instead of those gummi worms

    BUT

if this is how you'll progress keep on!

No that's bad, if you can't stop the soda try drinking diet if you're not already, the regular is bad for your teeth. Also eat more for lunch, sunchips alone aren't healthy.

  • 1 decade ago

No, because you are eating too many empty calories. You should not drink soda in the morning and a bag of chips is not lunch.

thats not THAT bad. you could have like a sandwich or something for lunch instead of chips... then it would almost be healthy
