    I found this out last week from my coach and it worked.

    Take your shoulder pads (it doesn't matter if they have plastic), your gloves, and your elbow pads and put them in the washer. Put the max soap in the washer. Run it on a normal cycle. Heat settings Hot/Cold.

    Run it like any other wash.

    DON"T PUT THE PADS IN THE DRYER!

    Let the pads dry in the garage. Not outside. (They will shrink outside).

    DON"T PUT YOUR HELMET IN THE WASH! There is no way to wash a helmet.

    I took my to the local laundromat and then washed them in there along with my gloves and such and then left them out to dry. Worked out quite nicely.
