Do meeting people through online dating sites or Craigslist work?

Okay, have been debating this with my sister for about a week. I say they do not work she states they do as she has a friend that is a BBW and she claims this is the only way she can get a date and/or other attention. My sister basically thinks I should start chatting online but I have reservations about this. She thinks I am closing myself off because of my divorce. I just am not ready to get my feet wet, but when I am I am wondering if anyone has every had success on one of these online sites. Thanks for your responses.

I met my boyfriend through craigslist. I was a skeptic at first. Believe me, before I did that, I'd never even considered doing that in a million years. But alas I did, when I guy I was so hung up on broke my heart. So one night I was crying (pathetic I know), I decided to go on craigslist and I saw a profile of this one guy that got my attention. I replied to his post and the rest, as they say, is history.

He's everything I've ever wanted. Kind of my dream guy in the flesh. Can you even imagine the odds of that? I sort of feel the hand of destiny was at work. I feel I couldn't have met anyone of quality like him if I stuck to traditional dating.

I'd say, keep your mind and options open. Maintain a balance of hope and cynicism. Have good judgment and be safe.

Good luck! Yes, online dating worked for me!

In my opinion, meeting people online and starting a relationship can be very dangerous because you can never know if they are who they say they really are. First off, don't give him any personal information, like where you are or live or your address or anything like that if you don't completely trust him. I think that you shouldn't trust someone completely unless you meet him. If you feel confident enough that he is a nice person or someone you would like to meet, make sure it's in a public place, like the mall or something. And maybe you can bring friends along just to make sure. You can never be too sure. Stay safe. =) Hope everything turns out ok.

I met my boyfriend on http://wwwsinglesnet.info/

It took about a month, and he showed interest in me. I registered for a lot of different ones, and didn't like most. This one is the best so far, and the best thing is it is free!
