bailout questions , retooled ?
I asked a question, and got slammed for it. I think my #'s were off. So I am adjusting the question and asking it again.
If the Gov't gave the American people $50,000 per tax paying person. Wouldnt that stimulate the economy and cost roughly the same as all these bailouts that have really not helpped so far.
citibank buying 50 million dollar jets and 400million ball park naming rights. AIG and their trips and wall street bonus'. The fat cat car company execs coming to washington in their Jets.
I am tired. Millions of americans losing their homes. Millions losing their Jobs.
Would you be for it. do you think it would help the economy? no slams just answer the question.

No, it would NOT stimulate the economy. It would drive inflation through the roof. Figure $50 for a Big Mac and $20 for a gallon of gas.
You don't stimulate the economy with handouts; you stimulate with programs that force people and businesses to SPEND money. Putting money in someones pocket does not guarantee that it will be spent and a huge handout like that would trigger so much inflation overnight that most folks would hang on to it out of fear.

Well, in fact, Citi canceled the order for the jet. Further, any company that names a stadium is to be boycotted (their products all have that cost of naming "built in" thereafter).
Using straight math, $890 billion divided by 320 million people is $2781.25 per person. And if we limit it to the working population, 260 million +/-, it's $ 3423.08 per worker.
The problem is that a) no one grows their own food anymore b) every sees a job, not starting ones own business, as the solution c) the average family lives 2 paychecks from zero d) zero hit weeks ago e) my problems are my governments fault, not mine, so fix it f) gimme a beer

I think so. Help out the average hard working american who is getting no where.
