I have a 94 Audi 100CS, same thing as an A6 except the name, and mine requires at least 91 octane in it. No gas stations around me sell it so I always run 93 octane. Gas costs a little more but its worth it when you're driving that Audi!

Well it is probably not a good Idea to downgrade because In the manual it states that 91 is the minimum allowed in order to prevent the fuel injectors from becoming clogged . If it is a good buy depends on you. If you have a trustworthy mechanic close to where you live and the price is good then there is no other reason not to unless it needs alot of work. I hope I helped
