I want a distro that can be customized with compiz and a window manager, is Fedora one i should consider?

Ok i have Ubuntu at the moment and have some problems updating wise and internet wise! I dont like the fact that when i update ubuntu I dont know what its installing and it not being able to find all the files needed! I am a 4 month user of Linux. I like the custom effects ubuntu has like with compiz. I want to know if Fedora can do the things ubuntu can personalization wise to the way you want it to look? I also use the internet very often! Should I consider getting fedora? Thank you

unless you get a distro that you have to compile all of your programs from source that all work more or less the same. Try something different that has a live CD so you do not have to fully install it untill you know if you like it or not.
