If I was to retrieve an e-mail on my phone, which contained a virus, would the virus go to my computer?

My phone and internet are through the same server and I can check my e-mails either way. Could a virus affect my phone? I know these are probably dumb questions, but I was thinking about it earlier and really don't know how it works.

A virus is only written for one operating system. most likely, it will be written to affect Windows. to have the virus do harm to your computer, it will need you to execute it by downloading and opening the attachment but with a good anti virus software like Avast or AVG, you shouldn't have to worry much. I'd still highly recommend you not opening any attachments unless they're from a known email address in a pdf or other document format.

retrieving email from your phone will not cause the virus to go to your computer unless you purposely transfer the attachment to your computer.

go to google and search for something about the email to find a page where you can forward the email to for analysis. Also, block the sender, and report it as spam!
