How can I leave the past behind and focus on the present and future? I tend to dwell on the past.?
I've been struggling with this for years. I want to leave the past where it should be: behind me. The problem is that is always seems to come back and haunt me. I constantly remind myself of past mistakes and bad events even when they are not on my mind; they just pop into view and I feel down.

Thanks for answering my qn. Let me answer yours. I do know where ya coming from. Im guilty of that as well. Im not saying I managed to find an answer or solution but heres my 2 cents.
1) Ask yourself if its making you depressed. If your life is affected by it for years and it stops you from truly living your life, go seek help. I had the same problem. Im a thinker. So I think anywhere and everywhere about anything and everything. Alas, those are negative instead of positive thoughts so it did get me down and depressed. It went on for years and next thing I know, I sunk in depression. After years of procrastinating, I found courage and seek help. I was on prozac and boy, it helps ALOT! For the first time in my life, I cld breathe and have a peace of mind. It stops me from thinking much and it made me LIVE AGAIN. :) I stopped after I manage to get a hold of things.
2) Facing it once and for all. What are those things that continue to haunt you? Face them. Write about it and express your sentiments, feelings and anger. Talk to someone. Release it out. Learn to accept that it has happened and learn to forgive and forget. Take a long time but if you are insistent, you ll get there. Meditate, take up yoga (hey its not just for gals! lol) or go for a run, make yourself a free man!
Just remember, its very unfair for you to not be able to live life the way a person should. Do yourself a favour and seek help. It might seem minute a problem to YOU but if its stopping you from enjoying life, it IS big enough a problem. Hope this helps and God bless!! ;)

Arrange Something Exciting In Your Future So You Can Look Forward To It And Make Sure Your Present Is Interesting And Active x

go see a therapist. It'll be the best thing you've done for yourself. I had past issues that I couldn't get over and finally went to see a shrink. I used to think that I could handle my problems, but it was affecting my sleeping and I felt anxious a lot. Talk to a shrink! You'll thank yourself later for it. ;o)

i think of with reference to the present extra reason if i make the present stable, sick seem at my previous and it will likely be stable. and if i think of of growing to be the present stable, itll make my destiny stable as properly. the present i'm able to alter, previous and destiny i won't be able to. :)

focus on God and his forgiveness not people and their judgment and I think you are judging yourself too harshly. We all make mistakes done things we are ashamed of every single person so dont listen to anyone forgive yourself move on life is short.
