As a female Vietnam-era Marine Corps veteran, thank you for appreciating those of us who put on a uniform. (My generation didn't get any warm welcomes or thank you gestures, just gestures of another nature.)

Now that you have pointed out, why have a STANDING ARMY at all?

I mean the danger's not here,at all. I mean there is no danger to the country what so ever, so there's no need for an a ready to deploy military.

And if something should happen, it would be no problem forming the military branches up again.

Training should take no time at all.
