Firebellied toads do not need UVB lighting but I do like to use around a standard 10 watt fluorescent light in a hood to make for a warm end in the tank and provide light for a daytime/nighttie cycle. It's not necessary, but I think it's good to have since all animals need a daytime period and the sun is out here in nature. Just give him a place to hide and get out of the light if he wants and you should be good to go! :)
