How hot is our Sony Bravia LCD tv?

The answer is very hot - unpleasantly so when the temperature is nearly 40C outside. Do plasma tvs get as hot? Any suggestions?

Yes, plasmas get quite toasty too. The back lights in the LCDs get pretty warm. The power supplies in the plasma sets generate a fair amount of heat, too.

Plasma TV's run hotter than LCD TV's. Your LCD should only be very warm at most, not hot. Most larger plasmas can heat a small room if they are on for a couple of hours.

I have a 46'' Sony Bravia 120Hz LCD 1080P and it keeps my whole family warm in the winter and hott in the summer but we love the Tv :)
