Which Pets (Cats/Dogs) You Prefer?

i like cats,ive always had them,ones sitting on my lap right now.

Cats are cleaner. Dogs stink up the house. But it all depends upon your preference. I'm a cat person, but I've met a few dogs I liked a lot. My current pet is a cat, and he's wonderful. Some people think cats don't have personality, but they really do. Whatever you choose, be good to it and spend time with it. Even cats need attention and affection. Dogs need exercise. @ Lilly's answer: a cat's litter box isn't nasty if the owner cleans it daily. Most of any animal mess is dependent upon the owner. But if you want to pick on cats, I'll pick on dogs. They roll in their own poop and then come lick you in the face.

I have had a one of each at the same time. The dog was scolded from a puppy to let the cat alone, but well the cat did have claws and taught the puppy himself to leave him alone. When the puppy grew up, she remembered but also the cat could always find a better place to hide where the dog couldn't follow. Mostly things were peaceful. I didn't worry about them. Sigh... They have both died now and I miss them!

Oh.. and which do I prefer? That is like asking which of my children I like the best! Very different animals and need to be accepted for who they are!

I've had cats and dogs at the same time, and they got along really well. They even slept in the same beds sometimes. I don't have a preference, I like them both equally.

I have a bichon, which is apparently the most "cat-like" dog. I also have a cat. They both have a "I don't give a crap" attitude and are very lazy. So I suppose cats.

dogs there trustworthy if raised from a puppy and a mans best friend, cats are more layed back and the litter box stix the house up

I love cats better. They're just so cute. But I would get both, if I had only one choice it would be cat.

I love both, they are both lovable for different reasons.

My house is perfectly peaceful with both there.

Cats are more independent, but they love their people.

Dogs are very loyal and playful and love their people too!
