Do you believe in that Groundhog Day tradition or 6 more weeks of Winter if he sees his shadow an early ->?

Spring if he doesn't? I for one really don't believe it.

I don't! That does not predict what God is going to do with the weather! I mean, I heard Alaska was getting 50 degrees when I heard where I used to live was only getting into the teens not counting windchills.

Shoot, he can see his shadow, the groundhog, but that does not mean in 6 weeks we won't get snowed in, or 8 weeks later it will no longer be winter-like.

when will people realize its another man made foolish tradition

Winter doesn't end by the calender for another 6 weeks...thus we have another six weeks of winter to go even if the groundhog dies !!

And how can he not see his shadow with all the media lights all over the place??

I wish people would stop with all this man made traditional...trash and get back to the God of Abraham , Issac and Jacob......then this Country would be a Nation of Life and Liberty and instead of murder , chaos and immorality !!!

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

It's a fun, silly tradition, but through Wikipedia (I believe), they track the success rate of Puxatawney (sp?) Phil, and the groundhog is wrong a lot more than right!

It's sad to see humans counting on a groundhog to tell us when winter is done whats next a dog telling us how to handle the economy like seriously.

Yes, of course, I believe in the Groundhog Predictions. And all those other things they print in the Farmer's Almanac.

    No

It only makes me angrier because they make a groundhog determine if I have to sit in the house freezing for 6 more weeks. >.>

Haha. It's fake, he doesn't really determine it.

Not really, no. But the only thing I celebrate on Groundhogs Day is my boyfriend's birthday! =D

If a beaver casts a shadow, then it's time for some sort of reduction surgery.

No, however, it is based upon Candlemas day the Christian Holiday The Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple. Just an FYI :)
