What should I do with my dog?

My dog is 12 years old. He has got two wounds - one near anus and another on the thigh. The wound in anus is getting smaller but the wound on thigh is getting bigger. We have given him anti-biotics and other medicines. From several days it hasn't ate anything. People are suggest for euthanasia but I love my dog very much. So, please suggest me what should I do? I have seen a vet but received just pessimistic ideas.

Update:

Thanks guys for answering promptly. Actually, I have seen two vets. One from national vet hospital and another from a kennel club. But they are not much serious. I think all vets are the same here. I can't think what to do.

i'm so sad to hear about your dog. it all depends what kind of wounds your dog has. wounds should be treatable but if a vet gives no hope well it is hard to decide what to do. if you think your dog is too old and that is not going to recover from those wounds well you have to let it go. i cried when i had to let go mine but i knew she was going to stop suffering. i just gave her a last look and ask her to forgive me for what i was doing. she gave me a last look and and i told her god bye. and if there is a haven for dogs i know she is over there and in my heart.

  • Give him his most favourite food to try and get him to eat. Do you have another vet near by? If you are willing to spend the money you would think the vet would treat him. Good luck and thank you from your dog for being so loving, but please don't let him suffer.

If you LOVE your dog, you won't let it suffer -- see another Vet for another opinion. If the opinion isn't any more positive, then you must do the right thing by him and let him go to the Great Dog in the Sky!

If you love your dog, you won't want it to suffer.

I loved and love my dogs, but there comes a time when it's more humane to put them down before they suffer.
