My uncle's volume in his car doesnt work anymore?
My uncle let me borrow his car because mine is in the shop. He has 4 audiobahn speakers and 2 mtx subs. I was blasting the system over my ipod.
Volume was at 50/60. Then is stopped for a second. I took the faceplate off, then put it back on and it started again. Then is went off again and i thought I could smell burning plastic.
The little circle that has a line of blocks that move up and down to the rythem of the music still moves as if music is playing but no sound comes out of the speakers OR the subs.
There is over $1000 worth of car audio equipment and my uncle was generous enough to let me use his vehicle and I accidentally broke it.
The fuse under the hood is intact.
Please help.
i was listening to the radio and it stopped working. no need to be rude for that...

Sounds like the amp or pre-amp inside the head unit fried. Too much current over several minutes will do that. Better hope it's still under warranty.....

So you were busted for dope possession and screwed up your uncle's car. Way to go. I hope you get your &hit together.
I won't tell you what I'd do if I were your uncle, but you can probably guess.
"I was blasting the system over my ipod" is not playing the radio. If you smelled what you think was plastic, it was more than likely the Intergated Power Amp Module. I'm guessing you had the ipod volume all the way up, and then cranked up the volume on the radio. Serious clipping and overloading.
Don't whine at me, you are the one that screwed the pooch.
