will you be able to bring up a 1.2 gpa to a 4.0?

i have a 1.2 in my freshman year (high school) which i am repeating this grade over. i have just passed the first semester with a 4.0 but since last year i failed it was weighted in my cumulative GPA. I was wondering if my GPA can be raised to a 4.0 by senior year. I plan on taking honors next year. I also might take one extra class online next year until my senior year, meaning i will have 3 extra credits.

Do you think im out of my mind for doing this? I really want to graduate with a 4.0 or higher(weighted). F***, i wish i knew what i know now last year and i was more concerned about school then.

Thank you =]

No, a 4.0 means you've never gotten a grade below an A. If your grades aren't completely replaced on your transcript, you can't get there. You might be able to have a weighted GPA at 4.0 or above if your high school weights honors and/or AP classes, but not every high school does that so colleges ask for a GPA on a 4.0 scale (unweighted).

You wont be able to raise your grade to a 4.0 (even weighted) but you can get pretty close. This is of course supposing you get all A's all the way out.

  • dont worry about it. honestly, what matters most is the knowledge and insight that you have gained in the whole experience. just continue doing well and look forward to the bright future that you are more likely to have now.
