You do not need your gallbladder - it stores bile but your liver will still make bile that will go directly to the intestine if your gallbladder is removed.

After a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), it is common to get some diarrhoea however this is temporary and improves and eventually settles as your body adjusts.

after losing your gallbladder you will have to watch when you eat meals and make sure there is a bathroom ready to use! My doctor called it "emptying syndrome", and said not everyone gets it after removal of the gallbladder, but A LOT DO!

Everyone that I know that has had their gallbladder removed has this horrible problem!

Keep it if you can! (I fought with doctors in the hospital for a week to be able to keep mine! But, after a week of not being able to eat, and not being able to find another way, I lost the fight. I really wish they would have left the organ and just took the stones.)

    Good Luck!
