I have encountered this problem before and it was in the horn contacts in the steering wheel. When they become worn the variations by temperature changes can cause the contact to ground and the result is a honking horn.

The fix- Replace the steering wheel horn contacts.

i like that description - a "vehicle honk malfunction"! It feels like the insulation on the twine from the horn change may well be worn down, permitting it to intermittently touch floor (this is how maximum vehicle horns are activated). If the vehicle is rather previous, this is very very nearly a actuality. while relays bypass undesirable, they the two do no longer paintings or they stick closed, hardly do they ever substitute into intermittent as you describe. particular, you are able to pull the fuse that factors the horn (assuming it does not additionally furnish something else important), yet a horn is a vital risk-free practices gadget, so which you relatively might desire to get it fastened. yet another straightforward thank you to disable the horn is to eliminate the twine to the horn(s) themselves, or eliminate the twine(s) from the horn relay.
