How to help a spooked beardie?

My year or so old male beardie is really spooked and very unhappy. My cat jumped above his cage and knocked something on top of it (theres a lid). I wasn't there but seeing the mess that was made I'm assuming this is what happened. He is very mad now...everytime I come near his cage or reach my hand near him he flares his beard up and puffs his whole body up. He's tried biting me too....

After talking to him and trying to pet him I can get him to calm down...but I'm worried...I don't want him being upset:(

If this just happened a little bit ago, leave him alone.

Shut off the light and leave the room. Let him settle down.

If this happened a few days ago and you're worried about him being "scarred for life", you start taming from the begining.

Sit with him, talk to him, bribe him with food.

Warn him when you're going to come up on him. Tap or call out. Eventually he'll learn to equate the sound with invasion and not freak.

he's just sick of p*ssy at the moment. all males get like that occasionally, especially when one goes breaking up our crib. Just let him lie quite for a while, call his buddies on the cell and let off some steam you know. You probably won't have to retrain him. He will just need some man time for a day or two, and keep crazy p*ssies away from him. There is only one for him and that's you. He'll come back to you, he knows who loves him. You sound like a great owner
