Why does my outlook open a word document when im sending or opening an email?

I have office 2007 and every time i open a new message windos outlook opens a word document. Why? Is there a way to shut that off?

    cayse the message is composed on .doc, its still outlook 2007 though.

    If it only opens up a word document, that is where you are supposed to compose the message. Some versions of outlook do open a word document for you to write the message in. If it opens two windows, a place for you to write the message AND a word document, I'm not sure what the problem is.

    Get Openoffice this may well be a loose word processing utility this is precisely like microsoft word plus you get subjects like graph making that are great for conferences i might recommend that.

    You can change it.

    Go to Tools, Options, Mail Format.

    Remove the check for "Use Word".
