greatest hits albums, and i mean this in a nice way, are like taking Lassie to the dessert, removing her teeth with a hunting knife and shooting her in the head with a gun that you and she made together.

edit: yeah i was hoping you would get that. i'll admit that i wouldnt have recognized that quote if you hadnt said where it was from. "shame based man" is hilarious.

these are the daves i know i know, these are the daves i know

I disagree. I think it's a funny quote, and an old friend of mine's dad used to quote it whenever the conversation allowed. I always thought it was pretty funny, but if I'm taking the question seriously it's kind of like Elvis said; if I'm not into a band, but I like a couple hits I don't feel any obligation to buy record after record when frankly all I want is the hits. Sometimes you just know you're not that interested and I think best of's are great for those situations. Ironically, the Doors are one of those bands for me.

  • Well I grew up kinda poor and the only place I could buy CD's was a very small wal-mart with a very crappy selection, so I often had to buy compilations because I knew I would never be able to afford/find the entire catalogue of bands like Zeppelin, Doors, Pink Floyd etc.

So, try to go easy on those of us who had to resort to buying "Greatest Hits" cds.

Luckily I ended up marrying a man with an awesome cd collection. lol

I easily have only re-study an account of your Eucharist from the e book residing Buddha, residing Christ via Thich Nhat Hanh. i replaced into surprised to be certain how the Bread and Wine took on the physique and blood of Christ. For us as quickly as we consume we attempt to be conscious of what our meals is to boot. For us it turns into each and everything that made it. To consume a leaf we are eating the rain that watered it, the earth that supported it and sunlight rays that feed it. In all it turns into all. we attempt to recollect this in any respect circumstances. collectively as that's amazingly substantial i'm reminded of a coaching of the Christ that it is not plenty what is going into the physique as what comes out. For me, if I have been to in easy terms artwork on one coaching, it would be to be conscious of speech. They words that we use and their reason might nicely be much greater unfavourable than the different weapon. The Christ additionally shared that malice words have been comparable to homicide. On those counts our faith is amazingly plenty reflections of the different.

For great album bands, yes. But I'm not wading through, say, ten mediocre pre-Pet Sounds Beach Boys albums just to get fifteen or twenty great singles.
