I disagree. I think it's a funny quote, and an old friend of mine's dad used to quote it whenever the conversation allowed. I always thought it was pretty funny, but if I'm taking the question seriously it's kind of like Elvis said; if I'm not into a band, but I like a couple hits I don't feel any obligation to buy record after record when frankly all I want is the hits. Sometimes you just know you're not that interested and I think best of's are great for those situations. Ironically, the Doors are one of those bands for me.

Well I grew up kinda poor and the only place I could buy CD's was a very small wal-mart with a very crappy selection, so I often had to buy compilations because I knew I would never be able to afford/find the entire catalogue of bands like Zeppelin, Doors, Pink Floyd etc.
