Recently I was offered?
a position at my apartment complex. I was interviewed by the owners and a over-see manager. I accepted the position going by what they told me. The problem arises that there is another woman that works there. I was told that she was going "out the door" because of bringing her children to the office.
Well I worked with her for a couple days and ended up being her personal babysitter while she showed apartments. She has done this on several occasions. The owner called me a few days later and asked me how things were going. I told her fine except for I didn't know I was being hired as a day-care provider. I do like this other woman, but it's not fair to me to sit and clean up vomit, garbage with dirty diapers, and watch her child. I have my own son to raise for God's sake. Anyway, the other woman is now only working 2 hours at night and I work during the day. She is furious and won't even speak to her friend that works at their main office. Why is it that I feel guilty for telling the truth and letting the owner know my feelings? Am I in the wrong? I was told that she was going to be let go eventually, but I still feel bad at the same time. Thanks for all who answer.

You were/are NOT wrong. You did the right thing. The apartment ownership told you that she was "out the door," and failed to follow through.
The owner then asked you "how things were going," and you told the truth which was the right thing to do.

If they are letting her go for bringing her kid into work they are going to find themselves sued if they are allowing YOU to bring yours in. It sounds like your boss is the villein here, not the woman.
