Chili / Chilli are the same: the name of a spice

Chilly = very cold

Chile [Not really pronounced "chilly" in Spanish, only by some English speakers: The country's name is actually "chi-leh" in Spanish]

Ha ha - I liked your question. I think there's probably a connection between Chili, the hot spice, and Chile, the country, since I believe that chillies come from Latin America originally - before it was Latin, though. :) I doubt if Chilly, cold, has any connection with either and may well be an Anglo-Saxon word.

So, chill - you're getting the whole enchilada that way: you won't get chilly if you eat chili in Chile.
