As a Mavs fan, I am super pumped to see this idea. I like Josh and am a huge "JET" fan, but Amare is a superstar, and still young, and I think you have to tie the knot on a deal like that.

However, something tells me Phoenix won't do it.

edit: I love the intelligent thinking and ideas here, but Robin LOpez would come off the bench as a PF/C and Amare would likely be the 3 instead of Dirk.

I was just about to ask a question the same question. Because Dampier isn't getting any younger and doesn't produce barely anything at the offensive end so instead of a 1 for 1 trade they should ship out a few players along with Howard to get some more versatility. Besides they Mavs have a pretty well rounded 2 and 3 spot players. Point blank they need to get a dominate low post presence bc Dirk is more of a step back shooter, as everyone knows, that is where Amare fits in

why would phx want j-ho and terry when they just traded diaw and bell, terry's salary isnt very appealing either, who's going to man the pivot at the suns behind diesel? what kind of offense are the mavs going to play with nowitzki and amare, i dont think barea is ready to fill in terry's shoes too. sorry bad trade overall imo

Good trade for Phoenix, horrbile for Dallas. Don't see it happening. Why would Cuban want to make the Suns a better team?

I think it is said that the Bulls are the front runners and if I were phoenix I would want either Derrick Rose (unlikely) or build a deal around Ben Gordon
