How do i get my parents to let me ride a bike without a helmet?

Simple. Ask them how they survived childhood without wearing their bike helmets. There used to be no such stupid thing. There used to be no damn car seats either but somehow humanity survived.

Have a look at your bike helmet. If it's not certified by the DOT or Snell (and I bet it aint!) then your using the equivalent of a t-shirt as a bullet proof vest.

To Tiffany: go outside and play and STOP answering on Y! answers, your obviously a dumb kid! To the asker: You must be 12 or somewhere around that age. Your head must also be worth about $20 too (price of a helmet that will keep you from being a vegetable) because when you fall off and smack your head on that concrete and fracture your skull or worse and end up eating thru a straw for the rest of your life, I wont feel a thing and you will be just another economic drain on society. So go ahead and DONT wear that brain bucket, I wont feel a thing. Havent you had enough answers that tell you how much of an idiot you are? If you were my kid I would do one of two things, 1. take your bike away and crush it under my truck so you dont have to worry about a helmet or a bike .....or 2. I would cut your hair so you dont have to worry about a pony tail.... Either way you WOULD HAVE A HELMET ON!

Wearing a helmet is safer for you. Think of it this way: you fall, if you have no helmet you could get serious head damage, if you have a helmet no bruises, no damage. You shouldn't get your parents not to let you wear a helmet, they do it for your own safety. Don't believe me? Search it up on the web and you'll see bike accidents happened by people who didn't wear helmets.

A properly adjusted helmet is comfortable, and there are women's models that allow you to ride with a pony tail, so your excuses are pretty lame. The other kids tease you? Too bad, tease them back. They only do it because they see that it upsets you. Wear your helmet

dude i've got been bmxing for roughly 8 years, and my helmet has saved me from death 4 cases, and severe recommendations and nerve harm i think of 6-10 cases. plus while u positioned on a helmet u experience plenty extra confident and safer to bypass massive. so purely positioned on it, and if u do do in comparison to ur helemet bypass to a bike or skate shop and get a funky helmet get some stickers or sumthin and much it look stable

Your helmet may save your life some day. Nascar drivers wear helmets, NHRA drag racers wear helmets, baseball players wear helmets, football players wear helmets, they all wear them for a reason. Safety. Are you better than they are? The other kids are foolish.

I know someone that had to get surgery after smashing his head against a telephone pole without a helmet when he fell off his bike... WEAR YOUR HELMET!!

Wearing a helmet is very necessary for young children, older children, and even adults.

You never know what could happen.

But if you really would like to risk it and not wear one the way to convince your parents that you are responsible.

tell them ur noting going to get hurt and people fall all the time on bikes i ride bmx and falling is my job so just tell them what goes on and show them some bmx videos and show them how people dont get hurt as bad on some videos but there is the chance of being hit by a car but doubted or just get a crazy helmet or just learn to do some crazy tricks and show them that so it looks like u accualy need the helmet
