Want to lighten my hair, what to use?

My problem is, my hair is 50% gray- it's called salt & pepper and upon reading some of the boxes of color, so many of them say- not to use on salt & pepper hair--What do I do?

go to a salon to get it done. they will know the right way to dye it.

if you use a box they gray parts of your hair will be lighter than the black parts. Thats why they say not to dye it on salt- and pepper hair.

go to a salon...they put a permanent color on it because gray is so hard to hold a color, and the box kind just ruins your hair and makes it so dry and brittle. best to pay a salon so it will be done right. and make sure your colorist is not right out of cosmo school, get someone who has been doing it a while, trust me....been there never do it again.

The reason is because grey does not always take the color well use one that is formulated for grey hair i use nice and easy and lorel still not all the greys cover, just do it it will not damage your hair if you condition well and leave it in a bit longer.I use neautral dark blond and it works well

    Source(s): do it

go get it done at a salon and get their opinion or just do it and see what happens
