should i just get over him?

Well, theres this guy, and he's had a crush on the same girl since the beginning of high school. They've never gotten together, and its only RUMORED that she finally likes him back. But this summer holiday, I've gotten really close to this guy, and he likes me. We talk all the time and he pretty much always ends up giving me anything I want. But he isn't sure what to do since he doesn't want to "hurt" this girl he's been hung up on for years.I'm not actually sure why it'd hurt her, since they're not actually TOGETHER or anything. Do you think I should hang around and wait for him to get over her, or should i end this thing right now, because I shouldn't waste my time on someone so obviously into another girl?
