It could be just menopause related or it could be something more. My Grandmother started out thinking she had a yeast infection, she went to the doctor, he gave her a prescription and we thought that was the end. She did not tell us that she started bleeding a little while after she got the prescription. She went in for heart surgery and that is when they realized that she was bleeding. The doctor still did the surgery. After the surgery they did medical tests and found out that she had a rare form of vaginal cancer. It was a form that only daughters of women who used a certain drug back in the forties got. My Grandmother was born in 1925 so we know that was not the source. Consequently, she could not do chemo because she was not strong enough to do her cardiac rehab and could not do the cardiac rehab because of the cancer. They tried radiation, but it did not work. They stopped all treatment and she stopped eating so she died from a combination of not eating, cancer, and the heart surgery (which, she did not have to have -she had a bad doctor at the Mayo clinic in Rochester MN). It was a year of hell for all the family. I am not saying your Mother has this, just telling you what happened to us. It may not be anything major. Just see what the doctor tells you.
