You are in no way responsible for someone else's actions. He may have been confused in a variety of ideas and things happening all at once and false ideas about it. Maybe the weirdness you sensed was indication of emotional mental problems he was having which were the cause of his choice to do that not your mentioned observation. You did not kill him indirectly by a comment. He chose to kill himself probably as a last resort illusion of escape from a number of things going on in his mind.

How many events happen to you in a year? Likewise many things happened in his life too in a year possibly all combined unrelated to you. If he really loved you and your weird remark affected him deeply he would do all he could to win your heart by not acting weird around you.

When i was in high school my nickname was Weirdo because i liked drawing weird monsters driving hot rods. But being called a name does not cause a decision for death. All kids get called names.Much more underlying things were happening unrelated to you.

So you forgive yourself at least for saying that.To ease your heart and conscience you ask Jesus to forgive you if that had any part in his choice to not endure life. You say with your voice, Lord I forgive me completely and I ask you to forgive him completely with compassion and mercy and save him for your love and let him into heaven.

The Lord does not hold you responsible for his actions or anyone else's.Offer all you have suffered from this to Jesus giving it to his heart as a prayer and spiritual sacrifice for his pardon and life in heaven.this will give peace to your heart anytime you feel it. You are innocent.
