Blocking wi-fi from neighbors but can wii still connect?

we think our neighbors may be using our wi-fi, which wouldnt bother us if it didnt make our service super slow. so, if we block connecting to our wi-fi with a password, will our wii still be able to connect?

yes I have Wi-fi Wep enabled. I have my computer, PS3, Wii and Tivo all using it with no issues. You just have to go into the setting of each device and enter the Wep key.

Yes, you can store the password on your Wii, and it will work.

If you have a DS and play WFC games with it, you may want to enable WEP encryption. The DS can only do WEP, but not WPA, which is a slightly stronger encryption scheme. The Wii can do WPA.

You could always ask your neighbors if they are using it, and whether or not they'd be open to the idea of splitting your ISP bill.

You will need to use the password as well for your Wii.

Once you do that, your Wii will be able to connect and nobody else but a hacker, of course.

If you're on cable internet, your speeds are shared among your neighbors because they all share the same pipeline back to the main hub. This is the one shortcoming of cable internet vs DSL which doesn't do that. If you think your wifi signals are messing with each other, though, change the channel your router is using for wifi. If you're willing to spend a little money, get a Wireless N router and that supports the 5GHz band and a Wireless N card for your computer that can connect to it.

Yes, you can have the wii store your password too. Adding a password to your internet will not make it any slower either.
