Does milk chocolate count as a vegetable or as dairy?
I figured it would be wise to review the food pyramid and figure out where the valentines treats are going fit in ahead of time. But here I see milk (which is obvious) but also remember that cocoa comes from beans and now I'm am all confused.

Neither chocolate is in the sweets section of the pyramid. There is no nutritional value that classifies it as a vegetabe or as a dairy product. Sorry.

The milk would be dairy. I'm not sure what chocolate would be. I think complex foods like that are classified into all the categories separately.

Well to make the answer simple:
Chocolate Milk
Made from cocoa beans = fruit.
Made from cows = Dairy.
You drink milk, so it is dairy, but you add flavor to it.
I would really think it is in the dairy side.
